YOUR TALK IDENTIFIES YOU!
What is in your heart the most? Are you identifying with God or the world?
This is also why faith does not work! Matthew 9:29 — According to your faith, be it unto you.
Faith or doubt is activated by what you say and what you say, is what is in your heart (spirit):
What is in your heart (spirit) the most is what will come out of your mouth when faced with a crisis or a problem:
I have done this myself when my faith doesn’t seem like it is working: I start to look at how I was talking:
Check your speech to find out why you are not receiving the promises of God:
If your speech is a bunch of negative words, then you identify as a negative person:
If your speech is positive, then you are a positive person: Positive thoughts and negative thoughts, become words and if spoken it will either create Faith or Doubt:
Here is what you must understand! What you say is most important in your faith walk:
I have heard a lot of people including myself in the past, when they speak negatively — Oh I was just kidding! Well, no one knows that and the devil does not care — you spoke those words and he will act on those words:
If you speak positive words of faith, then the Lord says, now I have something I can work with!
Positive and negative work in areas of what and how you see things:
Negative speech will keep you out of the faith realm!
Positive speech will cause your faith to be strong!
Negative always says — “I can’t!”
There are alot of people that wonder why faith don’t work for them, well they need to check out what they are saying:
My Dad used to say — “Can’t never did anything!” Do you know — He was right! Can’t never did anything:
There were times in my life, where I felt to do something, but did not do it because I felt like I couldn’t and I would convince myself that I couldn't
God did not give us a spirit of fear or “I can’t” 2 Timothy 1:7 — For God hath not given us the spirit of fear, but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind:
All negative talk comes from fear — “ I am afraid! I can’t; I don’t think I can do that or able to do that:
In fact, all through his word, he tells us we can and all through his word, we see who could and who all couldn’t:
We also see in his word, where he encouraged those who thought they couldn’t:
In Matthew 14: 22-33 we see where Jesus told Peter to come (step out of the boat and walk on water)
Please read that whole story, but for now let's focus on verse 28- 33 — And Peter answered him and said, Lord, if it be thou, bid me come unto thee on the water. And he said, Come.
And when Peter was come out of the ship, he walked on water, to go to Jesus.
But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me.
And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and caught him, and said unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt?
In the natural — Peter had every right to say “I can’t.” Here he is in a boat and Jesus comes walking on the water: Peter said, “Master, if that is you — bid me to come”.
Jesus said, “it is I come’” Peter steps out of the boat and started to walk on the water, however he took his eyes off of Jesus and began to sink.
Notice, he began to sink — why, his eyes and mind told him he couldn’t (which was fear which was based upon what he saw) then — Jesus took him by the hand and Peter walked on the water:
Now pay attention to what I say — In the natural, no-one can walk on top of the water, unless you are told by Jesus and you obey him with faith and trust:
Faith and trust go together, Peter had to trust Jesus’ words before he had faith to step out of the boat:
Notice that when Peter started to sink, Jesus stretched forth his hand and caught him and asked him — “oh thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt?”
Notice — Jesus did not get upset at Peter, but asked him —” wherefore didst thou doubt?
Jesus will ask us the same question — “where or what part of your faith did you doubt?”
Doubt will always keep you from doing what Jesus told us to do:
It may come by words someone else said, or you took your eyes off of Jesus and his word: Let me tell you a secret — No-one can walk on water unless you have faith and the words of Jesus:
Every time I go to the lake and step in the water my feet and legs go to the bottom and the further out in the water I walk, the deeper I go, so walking on the water is not a natural:
I remember several years ago, my youngest Son and I took a raft out to the lake: My Son got out and swam and floated, he was having fun!
He said to me — “come on Dad, it feels good out here.” So, I got out of the raft and guess what — I sank! I felt myself going down, down, down: My mind kept thinking — what am I going to do? I am sinking and my six year old Son is up there looking for me:
I (under my breath) said, “Jesus save me and guess what — I floated up to the top and ended up being able to get back in that raft:
I am convinced that on that day, if I did not call out to Jesus — I would have drowned and my Son would have lost his Dad and would have had to find his way home by himself and this was way before cell phones:
In a way, I now think that my thoughts of “Jesus, help me” worked just like the words Peter said — ``If that be you, bid me to come.”
If it wasn’t for that thought I seriously think that I would not be here today:
So, your talk and even your thoughts can either cause you to rise up or cause you to sink: Had I had said, “ I give up, I am getting nowhere, I would not be here today.
What are you saying? Are you stepping out of the boat when Jesus says come or are you saying — No, No, I can’t !
Faith is always “I can” not “I can’t!”
Remember the words my Dad told me — “Can’t never did anything!”
REMEMBER: JESUS IS LORD!
