A COMMANDING OFFICER
Today's teaching is based upon what the Lord revealed to me at Church on Easter Sunday:
Where I go to church, we have three staff members called Pastors, well that phrase bothered me for quite some time until Easter Sunday.
He likened this teaching like it is done in the Army, Navy etc. Our main Pastor is the founder of our Church therefore he is the main Pastor, God spoke to me and said, He is the General:
Now, in listening to my Dad talk about the service (Army) there were several officers involved, but today, I will talk about a few:
General --- He is the top dog as one would say of a troop or a group of men and women serving for the safety of our country. The General was the one who gave the plans to the commanding officers, then the commanding officers are to give those plans to the troops who are to carry them out as detailed:
He (the Spirit of God) explained my dilemma this way --- The founding Father of our church is a General in the Army of God, he then gives direction to the commanding officers as to how he wants the troops (congregation) to receive and go out and fight the war:
In other words, the congregation is the Army personnel who are to carry out the commands from the General through the commanding officers:
I want to say this, yes Jesus is the highest-ranking commanding officer in the army of Christ who gets his instructions from God the creator.
Jesus gives his command to the General, the General passes those commands on to the commanding officer and the commanding officer is to instruct the troops to do exactly what the General had spoken.
When the General speaks his command to the commanding officers , it is the commanding officers place to carry out or motivate the troops:
Now I know in the standard Army, navy, and Marines etc., there are more officers who are responsible to motivate the troops but today I am speaking about a few:
A lot of times in the churches we (the troops) sit there and hear the command from the commanding officer of what we the troops are to do, but instead of carrying out these instructions, we leave and say, “that was a good service.” And do nothing about obeying the command that was given:
A lot of the troops in the army of God, go to church alright, sit and say amen, then walk out onto the battlefield and get wounded or killed, by some bystander who are throwing darts, and instead of following instructions from the commanding officer, they get badly wounded and then say, “the word does not work”.
Well, in a real army scenario, if a trooper went out from the instructions given by the commanding officer, takes his gun with him, but forgot to load it, he would probably get killed or badly wounded:
Now the trooper who hears the command would leave, load his gun, cock it, have his eyes searching for the enemy and kill him instead, he would see victory instead of defeat:
I have fallen into the bad trooper scenario before and went out and was spiritually wounded:
There are enemies out there just waiting to steal the word, wound you and laugh about it and still call themselves Christians:
There are troopers in service who have their minds on what they are going to cook for lunch or dinner: They have their minds on what movie they are going to watch when they get home: (What happened here?) They left the instruction area and forgot to cock/load the gun or forgot to pick up their weapon when they left and then get badly wounded and say --- “Well, the word does not work!” “See there, I heard the word and still got badly wounded!”
Your weapon is to be carried and cocked, ready for use when you step out onto that battle ground:
John 10:10 says --- A thief has only one thing in mind, he wants to steal, slaughter, and destroy. But I (the word) have come to give you, life abundantly:
Sometimes, our minds are on other things, like cellphones and iPad etc. (believe me, I hear them going off all of the time in church)
We are too busy with these other things (distractions) that we don’t hear the commanding officer giving us a command:
Example, Easter Sunday as the commanding officer was giving forth the command from the Lord, the commanding officer called my name and asked me to do something, now if I had my mind on my cell phone or what I was going to make for dinner, I would have missed that command:
When you are to busy to hear the command, then as soon as you step outside of the command center, you wonder what was said, but it is too late at that time:
The command was given, and you missed it and now out with the enemy all around you and you don’t know what to do:
Don’t let that be you, sit and listen to the commands given to you and go out and win the war:
REMEMBER: JESUS IS LORD!
