ARE YOU A YO-YO CHRISTIAN?
When I was a kid, we played with yo-yo’s , we would make them go up and down on the string or make the yo-yo go up in the air and around the world as it was called: Some of the kids would get the yo-yo to spin at the bottom of the string, then make a loop with the string and as it spun inside of that loop they would make it swing back and forth — they called that rocking the baby:
I want to ask you if you are a yo-yo Christian going up and down on the string of life?
In other words — up and happy one day and another you are down and sad or both ways throughout the day:
God does not want us to be yo–yo’s and be up and happy one day and down and sad the next:
God does not want his children to be that way: He wants us to be up at all times:
Let’s look at it in our faith walk! One day or one moment, you are joyful, happy and full of faith, then the next moment — sad, depressed or down:
I encourage you to stay up and spinning because — when you are up you can operate in faith as when you are down — you are operating in doubt:
You will get nowhere with God being a yo-yo Christian: You must keep your faith up and spinning:
When your faith is up and spinning — you receive from God, but when you are down and spinning you are in doubt and cannot receive from God :
My folks used to call the times we were down, “Being down in the dumps”:
What do you find at the dump? Mostly garbage and rotten garbage at that:
Oh, you might find a little trinket or something like that but nothing of great value:
Receiving from God by faith requires us to have an up or positive attitude:
Your attitude decides what you will do and find each day:
Are you having a down in the dumps day or are you standing on a mountain straight and tall?
Being in faith requires a positive attitude: Being in faith requires you to stand up straight and tall in the face of adversity:
You might ask — How long do I need to stand strong? — Until you get the manifestation of what you are believing for:
If your friends keep talking doubt — get away from them for their actions can cause you to be down more than you are up:
You say, well I need to pray for them who drag me down! Yes! You do, but you don’t need to hang around them to pray for them:
You can do that when you are in your place of prayer: They don’t even need to know that you are praying for them:
Just lift them up to God when you are spending time with him: Let God deal with them:
In order to keep your life from being a yo-yo it requires daily attention to God in prayer and study of his word:
Another yo-yo is one that only gets into the word of God when he/she gets in trouble, one day up and the next day down:
Stay away from the yo-yo effect and stay wound up on the string of the word of God:
A yo-yo starts out wound up on a string, but does nothing until it is released:
The word of God is the same — it will stay in one place until it is released:
Release the word in your life and see the difference it makes in you :
REMEMBER: JESUS IS LORD!
