1 John 2:15-17 — Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him:
For all that is in the world, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life: —- is not of the Father, but is of the world.
The world and its desires are passing away; but the one who does the will of God lives forever:
I will ask you again, — Are you in Christ? If you Love the world and the things of the world — you are not in Christ!
2 Corinthians 5:17 — If you are in Christ, all things worldly are passed away and behold all things become new: (You became a new person)
There are and always will be things that will draw our attention away from the word, prayer, and Jesus, but we need to guard ourselves from the distractions:
When we find ourselves in dwelling more on what is going on in the world, rather than what is going on with Christ, we need to stop, ask forgiveness and get back into the word and in prayer:
We all (self included) get caught in this trap, but lets not remain there: If we stayin the things of the world too much , we find that we have no time for the word: Satan loves to remind us that we got to do this or we got to do that, in order to keep us out of the word and keep us from fellowshipping with our Lord:
Balance is the answer, but first comes first:
First — The word of God:
Second — Prayer time
Third — Communication with God just talking to him just like you talk to your friend:
Fourth — Take time out of your life and get with God:
Fifth — Praise is another way to commune with God: Sincere praise, not (well, I guess I need to praise God, I don’t know what for, but here it goes) — Garbage:
God asks for 10% of our time and money to be given to him: 10% is not much out of a 24 hours day:
You don’t even have to do that 10% all at once, you can stretch that out throughout the day: But most important that we give at least 10% if not more:
In the natural, you build a relationship with your spouse, your friend, your dog or cat, or whatever in the natural, so building a relationship with God is done in the same way, just spending time with him:
Spending time with him is extremely important, not only for him, but for you as well:
I personally read 3-4 chapters of the Bible every morning: Giving of thanks is another way I spend time with God: I just sit or stand and lift my hands in the air and thank him for life, health, prosperity and for him being who he is and for being my provider:
I praise him for saving me and filling me with the Holy Spirit: Sometimes I ask him questions on how to fix something, or to help me turn a screw loose that does not want to turn with my strength alone: The main thing is to spend quality of time with him:
Singing songs of praise will also lift your own spirit and can bring joy to your life:
Recently I started to stop at the foot of my bed before laying down to sleep and lift my hands and just praise him for not only things he has done for me, but also what he is doing in my family and what he is doing in this world:
Things in this world are going crazy, but prayer and praise can and will turn things around:
I find that praise to God keeps me from being depressed : I find that praising God brings joy and I will just start laughing:
Remember — 10% of your day is not much, but will make a difference in your life:
You will actually feel weights of sadness, depression lift from you and you will break out in joy and start laughing:
REMEMBER: JESUS IS LORD!
