Faith verse Fear!
We need to have our faith stronger than our doubts or fears:
Both — Faith and Fear are real: Both faith and Fear are in us all of the time:
Which one is more dominant in you depends on which one you dwell on the most:
Isaiah 41:10 ESV — Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God: I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand:
Joshua 1:9 ESV — Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of courage: “Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for The Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”
2 Timothy 1:7 ESV — For God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self control:
Psalms 27:1 ESV — of David, The Lord is my light and my salvation whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?
1 John 4:18 ESV — There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear: For fear has to do with punishment and whoever fears has not been perfected in love:
There are many, many more scriptures on fear or fearing not, but fear is from the devil, he created fear:
You might say — There is good fear and bad fear: Good fear keeps you from doing stupid things: Well that might sound good, but fear will not teach you anything: Fear will keep you from doing what’s right; What you could do if you tried, But fear is not a teacher:
Wisdom is what you need in life that if applied will keep you from doing stupid things that could hurt you or even kill you:
I for one grew up with fear: ** Now let me make this statement — No fear I had was because of my parents: Mom or Dad caused us to fear:
My fear was because of being made fun of and intimidated most of my childhood:
Example: I could walk onto the bus or leave one classroom to go to another and get something for the teacher:
The moment I opened the next classroom door — I did not say anything, but the class would bust out laughing at me:
Well, through time — that laughing turned into fear and I became fearful to do or try anything new:
This was something I did not understand: I would look at others and look at myself and did not see a reason for the fun making they were doing:
But, one day, I decided to face my fears and met one of the bullies in the neighborhood next to ours and without going into detail, that action stopped the book hitting, and being made fun of: (I basically showed him I was not the sissy he thought I was)
I finished school without an issue after that: But fear is horrible for it will convince you not to to do things because of one reason or another:
We must overcome and get fear out of our system and not jump off of a cliff to end it all:
Jumping off of a cliff is nothing short of stupidity: Well, let's look at this from another angle:
Fear can stop you from believing God’s word: Fear can keep you from doing what God asked you to do:
Fear is a horrible thing to get caught up in:
Let’s return for a little bit on the fear I had in school: I said that fear kept me from doing certain things which affected my grades: Well fear also kept me from stepping out and doing what God asked me to do. ( Let me tell you a secret — Fear kept me from asking girls out on dates etc.)
Even though I was over the major part of fear, I still had a small remnant that kept me from doing what God wanted me to do:
I had to get rid of that fear later on in life: We as Christians need to be as Ephesians 6:10 says — Finally be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power:
Realize this — With Jesus you have the power behind you and when satan tries to intimidate you, just say — “Oh no you don’t devil, I have Jesus and his word to back me up.
When you do this, that coward will back off:
He already faced Jesus and got whipped and will not cross that line again:
Just like the fight I told you about, I had no more trouble in school or on the bus: I sat wherever I wanted to and went from classroom to classroom without another issue:
Word got around quick
