JUST A CLOSER WALK WITH THEE (JESUS)
I am weak, but thou art strong, Jesus, keep me from all wrong: I’ll be satisfied as long as I walk, let me walk close to thee:
Just a closer walk with thee, Grant it, Jesus is my plea, Daily walking close to thee, let it be dear Lord, let it be:
Through this world of toils and snares, If I falter, Lord, who cares? Who with me my burdens share? None but thee, dear Lord, none but thee:
When my life is o’er, Time for me will be no more, Guide me gently safely o’er to thy kingdom shore, to thy shore:
I feel led to write about us having a closer walk with Jesus: We need to take time daily, spending time in his presence: We can do this in these ways:
1) Singing songs of praise:
2) Studying and reading his word:
3) Prayer time, spent with him and I do not mean praying, “Now I lay me down to sleep, I pray my soul to keep! This is not, nor should have ever been a prayer, but as I was growing up and being around my relatives, and friends, I heard this prayer spoke before crawling in bed:
Now, I am not putting them down, for they did what they were taught and did not know better:
The reason why this prayer is so negative is because it questions the salvation, Jesus has provided for us in his word:
He promised us eternal life; he promised us health; he promised us wealth and prosperity; He promised us that he would keep us safe; he promised us a home in heaven:
He said in, Hebrews 13:5 --- let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have; for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee:
If Jesus, (the word) is in us, we should not walk around in fear, and speak out words that are not true about our Father God and out Lord Jesus Christ:
You might say, well, there are times I feel he is so far away! Well, when you get these feelings, say out-loud and mean it from your heart (spirit): “I am not afraid, I am not alone, there is no reason for me to feel lost! For God said, I am with you always even until the end of the world:”
Again, in this teaching, I want to encourage each of you to spend time in
1) Prayer
2) Reading and studying the word of God:
3) Giving praise to the name of Jesus:
These are just a few of the things we need to be doing: We can spend time with him in praying for the lost or praying for the sick; witnessing to others and make talking about Jesus and his word the most important thing in our lives:
I have written a lot in the past blogs about the importance of the blood of Jesus which was shed for us:
I want you to understand, talking about the name of Jesus is important, for there is so much to be spoken, written about his blood and his name:
His name is so powerful, that if all we do, at work, or at home, or while we are shopping is to say, Jesus! Jesus! Jesus! Over and over, we would be surprised how much that means to him: Do a study on the name of Jesus and see what all is in that name:
Remember, he gave his life, his blood and all he had for us: He gave us his name and said, “In blessing, I have blessed you.”
There is so much in the name of Jesus; In the shedding of his blood; In the entire teaching about his death, burial, and resurrection; that if we wrote about it, for years, we would not exhaust what is in the name of Jesus:
We all need to take a closer walk with Jesus: This needs to be daily; not just every now and then, or on Sunday morning only: It needs to be the first thing coming out of our mouths in the morning; throughout the day and at the end of the day, his name should be spoke:
We should speak it as well, when we lay down to go to sleep: I have found out that using his name before I fall to sleep, gives me a peaceful sleep:
When you get up in the morning, you need to speak his name:
Let’s make much of the name of Jesus and much of the blood: If you do this on a regular basis, you will find out, that your sleep will be sweet, and your day will be better:
Tell someone else about the name of Jesus; Don’t be shy, but boldly speak about all he has done for you:
His name is precious, I challenge you to do your own study about the name of Jesus and about the blood of Jesus: After you do, send me an email through the email address on my ministry page, and tell me if you were able to exhaust what is in his name or what is in the blood of Jesus:
I also encourage you to go to www.markhankins.org and order his book, “The bloodline of a champion.” Also go to www.kennethhagin ministries.org and get Kenneth E. Hagin’ s book on the name of Jesus. These are great resources for you, they have been for me:
Until the next writing, have a blessed day and serve the Lord with gladness!
