“HOW DOES YOUR GARDEN GROW?”
The above song was song by many children as I grew up and thought it was appropriate for this teaching:
Let me ask you a question. How does your garden grow? I am not asking about a natural garden in your back yard, but How does your spiritual garden grow? Is it growing strong and full of faith, Goodness, Love or is it full of weeds like doubt and unbelief?
Faith Hope and Love are the main keys to keep your spiritual garden growing well: These are the main ingredients to having a beautiful fruitful successful garden.
Faith Hope and Love! --- Let’s talk about these for a moment or two.
Faith: --- Faith is the ability to stand strong in adverse circumstances:
Faith: --- Faith is walking and speaking God’s word no matter what you see in the natural.
Faith: --- Faith is not moved by what others say or by the negative talk all around us.
Faith: --- Faith is saying the same things that God says.
Faith: --- Faith is standing strong and speaking God’s word regardless of the surrounding negatives that bombard you daily.
Hope: --- Hope is the ability to stand strong no matter how long it takes for the word to do what it says.
Hope: ---- Hope is a process that we all go through in the natural. Example: I hope that some day I will have a 1968 GTO. Well hope is the same with the word of God. It is a God kind of hope, that even if it has yet to come to pass, it will be in our future as long as we continue to stand in faith.
Hope: --- Hope cannot stand along but must be mixed with Faith.
Love: --- Without Love, faith and hope will not work.
Love: --- Love is patient and kind.
Love: --- Prefers others above ourselves, in every situation. Have you ever, as you raised your children, had one piece of chocolate cake left, and you wanted it so bad your mouth was watering with desire to eat it, but your child came up and asked if they could please have that cake? What did you do, you loved them enough to put it on a plate and let them eat it in-front of you.
These three items must go together if you are walking in Faith and want a super faith garden.
If these items are not in your life, you will have weeds take over. Weeds like Hate, Anger, Discourse, or wanting to hit someone for what they did to you.
Keeping a super great spiritual garden means you must walk in Faith, Hope and Love.
If you have any negatives in your life, get rid of them. Take the word of God and study it and find scriptures to help you come against these negative seeds you planted with your mouth and replace them with Faith, Hope and Love:
I also want you to know, this change will not happen overnight, it will take time and work, but so does having a natural garden take time and work to produce a great harvest.
We must understand, that there is a real devil out there who will constantly bombard you with the negative, cause something to come up and make you angry as well as other negative things.
The devil is not a quitter and we need to be like him in this respect and not be a quitter!
We use the word of God, not bats and guns with ammunition, but with the word of God being our ammunition coming out of our hearts through our mouths.
I want to say this, there has never been a battle won by thinking alone. This is in the natural world as it is in the spiritual world.
Have you ever read in history about past wars, like World war one or World war two or the Korean War or how about the wars fought to make America a free nation?
If all of these natural wars were tried to be won by thinking, we would have lost every one. Yes, they all start with thinking then moves to planning, the moves to putting action to those plans.
Well the spiritual wars are the same, and your executive officer, Jesus Christ has given you a plan to live a victorious life: These plans are all through the bible, from Genesis through Revelations.
Every generation throughout the Bible had wars, things they needed to overcome before there were ever any victories.
Well, until Jesus comes again and removes the enemy for good, we will have battles. Things that will try to uproot our faith, an enemy that will try to convince you that God’s word does not work.
Talk to any successful Pastor and ask him or her about the battles they had to overcome to get to the position they are currently in. Also note: Just because they have arrived does not mean the battles stop.
Faith, Hope and Love are and must be constant, in order for you to live in victory and grow super wonderful fruit in your spiritual garden.
God wants us to be the light of the world, not just only our immediate family world, but out in the streets and byways. Everywhere we go, we need to be letting our little light shine.
Another song we used to sing as children was, Let my little light shine, hide it under a bushel No! I going to let it shine, let it shine, let it shine let it shine!
Back to the natural garden --- What would happen if we prepared your garden, planted all the seeds and plants, then put a heavy tarp over it? Well, Nothing will produce out of a garden that has been hidden. It must have light and rain!
Light spiritual rain which comes through praise is also what is needed in our spiritual gardens as well, without light, spiritual water and praise, we will receive nothing. God’s word is light, and that light gives life to our spirits and causes the things of God to grow and manifest in our lives.
