EPHESIANS 6:10-18
PUT ON THE ARMOUR OF GOD
Verse 10: Finally, my brethren, be strong in the lord and in the power of his might.
Verse 11 --- Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
Verse 12 --- For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
Verse 13 --- Wherefore, take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
Verse 14 --- Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;
Verse 15 --- And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
Verse 16 --- Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.
Verse 17 --- And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:
Verse 18 --- Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the spirit, and watching there unto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints:
Now let’s put this all together as a prayer without verses marking which it will read like this:
My brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might: Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil:
For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places: Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness, and your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace, above all, taking the shield of faith, where with ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the spirit, watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints:
The armour of God, covers everything from the head to toes and is to shield you from the enemy, which is the devil:
This armour is not something that you put on physically to cover your body, but it is a spiritual armour to cover your spirit from top to bottom:
It is made in such a way that it covers the mind, the spirit of man, all the way down to guard you from the devil and all of his ways to get to your spirit and mind: (If he gets to your mind, he will get to your spirit and then doubt sets in)
Guarding your spirit and your mind will keep you on track with God and his word:
When you are in faith, trusting God for healing, or your finances or some other things you are believing for, the armour, which is the word of God spoken out of your mouth will protect you from the enemy who will try to steal the promises of God from producing what you are believing for:
If he (satan) can get in and tear down that armour, a piece at a time, he will eventually get to your spirit and destroy your faith that you are standing on:
The devil is sly and will use words from other people or if you are standing for healing, he will try to convince you that because you have pain or still feel depressed, that the word of God does not work:
If he can get in and start tearing that armour down, he will totally destroy your faith:
It even could be telling you, “that faith stuff don’t work, you tried it before and did not get what you asked for”. “You see, your still in debt.” “You see, you have been believing for weeks; moths or years and nothing has changed.” “You still feel the same way as you did before.”
Please understand, Faith is not a feeling but a spiritual force: Faith and words you speak are the catalyst and shield that causes you faith to grow and protect the enemy’s tactics from destroying:
If he can weaken you to the point that you get discouraged or you look at your feelings, he will destroy your faith:
The only way to keep your armour on you in one piece is through the constant use of the word of God, this comes in words of confession:
You can do this by:
1) Saying, Mr. devil, the word says in (give scripture) then say for example, Jesus said, by his stripes I am healed and since he said it, I say that I am healed, not I will be but say it in the present tense, rather you feel it or not, I am healed!
2) Saying, Mr. Devil, I am not moved by what I see or feel, but by the word of God:
3) Jesus said in (again give scripture location and read it to him) “I can have what I say!” “Therefore, I am all that Jesus said I am:”
4) I will not bow down to your tactics but will stand and continue to speak the word of God until I get my answer or the manifestation of what I am believing for, no matter how long it takes. You must understand, faith must be built within you before it works for you.
Here is a list of armour parts of God:
1) Truth – Verse 14
2) Breastplate of righteousness verse 14
3) Feet shod with the gospel of peace verse 15
4) The shield of faith verse 16
5) The helmet of salvation verse 17
6) The sword of the spirt verse 17
7) Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the spirit verse 18
8) Watching therefore with all perseverance and supplication for all saints. Verse 18
Put all of this together will create the whole armour of God: Faith will work when you put on the entire armour of God!
If you want to be protected, you must have on the whole armour!
If you leave one piece off, that area will have no protection and that will be the area that the enemy will attack you:
He is always watching and waiting for you to slip up so he can rob you of the promises of God:
One very important thing, I want to tell you, make a check list of every piece of armour, go over each piece and make sure it is attached properly and fits tight with no gaps or missing pieces:
If the devil sees one opening, he will take advantage of it to try to destroy you and your faith:
Another way to put on that armour is through regular confessions of God’s word: Speaking it over and over on a regular basis:
No one else can put your armour on you, they can show you where it is and how, but you must put it on:
Now, I just showed you where it is, not put on the armour of God!
REMEMBER: Jesus is lord
