Romans 10: 6-17

ROMANS 10:6-17

Verse 6 --- But the righteousness, which is of faith speaketh on this wise, say not in thine heart, (spirit) who shall ascend into heaven? (that is, to bring Christ down from above:)

Verse 7 --- or who shall descend into the deep? (that is to bring up Christ again from the dead:)

Verse 8 --- But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth. And in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach:

Verse 9 --- That is if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved:

Verse 10 --- for with the heart (spirit) man believeth unto righteousness: and with the mouth, confession is made unto salvation:

In verse 6 --- We see that righteousness is of faith: (which everything from God is received by faith) When Jesus was born a baby in the womb of Mary, is when Christ came from the Father God and took on human form: (This was the only way he could redeem man-kind after the fall of Adam and Eve) We don’t have to pray Christ comes down to receive salvation, he has already come:

Verse 7 --- Asks a question: Who shall descend into the deep? (that is to bring up Christ again from the dead) You see, Jesus was already brought up from the dead and made alive:

All of this, we read in verses 6&7, was all completed through Jesus death, burial, and resurrection: We do not need to wander who or how Jesus will come down from heaven or when he is coming out of hell! No, that has already been done and completed:

Jesus said in Mathew 16:21 --- From that time forth, Jesus began to show unto his disciples, how that he must go unto Jerusalem, and suffer many things of elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and raised again on the third day:

We see that Jesus was telling his disciples that he would die (natural) death and then, in three days be raised to life:

You see, Jesus died, spent three days in a grave (tomb) , his physical body was in the tomb, but his spirit went to hell for three days: During these three days, he defeated spiritual death for everyone: We must also understand, that even though Jesus defeated the enemy and created life for us, we must accept that Jesus in-fact did die, go to hell, defeated satan and was raised from the dead:

Romans 10 --- Lets go to verse 8 --- The question is asked, but what saith it? Talking about the word: It then goes on to say, The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart, that is, the word of faith, which we preach:

You see, the word must be taught before we understand and speak it out of our mouths:

Salvation does not come by thinking; No, it first is put into our ears, then it goes down into your heart (spirit):

There are many ways for the word to get into our spirits:

#1 --- is through hearing a preacher or teacher of the word:

#2 --- is by reading the word of God (Bible) with our eyes:

Verse 9 --- That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and believe in thine heart (spirit) (You see, the human spirit is in the center of man-kind:)

What are we to believe in our hearts (spirits) and say with our mouth?

A) Say with our mouth (confession) what? (That Jesus is Lord!)

B) Believe in thine heart that God hath (past tense or already done) raised him (Jesus) from the dead, (thou shalt be saved:)

Now, without either of these there is no salvation for you until you believe and speak with your mouth or (say it with sign language or some other way if your voice has been impaired) (Some way you must acknowledge these things:)

So, again, we must believe in our heart (spirits) say either by mouth, written page, or sign language, that Jesus is Lord in order to be saved:

Verse 10 ---- for with the heart (spirit) man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth (or however you talk) confession is made unto salvation:

Verse 11 --- For the scripture saith, “whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed: “

Verse 12 --- For there is no difference between the Jews and the Greek; for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him:

Verse 13 --- For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord, shall be saved:

You see, Jesus died and was raised from the dead for everyone: He brought salvation for all of man-kind: Not just for a certain breed, color but he died and arose for all of man-kind:

Verse 14 --- How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher? This verse is telling us that the word must be spoken or taught in order for someone to hear about Jesus:

A lot of people think that the word of God must be spoken by a preacher or Evangelist, but if you have breath within you and are born again, you can preach the word to someone and get them born again:

Verse 15 --- And how shall they preach, except they be sent? (Jesus told his disciples to go tell everyone, teach, preach and let them know that Jesus is Lord:)

As it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace and bring glad tidings of good things!

Mark 16: 15 --- And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature:

Here we see, he is talking to his disciples, but actually the word disciple means, one that is following him: If you have made Jesus Lord, you are his disciple, so you can preach the gospel:

Romans 10:17 --- So, then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God: (not just by hearing a preacher only) (but by the word of God:)

If you are speaking the word of God, you can get someone born again!

Happy Preaching!

REMEMBER: THAT JESUS IS LORD!

Preach the word!
