Do you have a river running through you?

Updated: Sep 8, 2022

Artist - Gaither Vocal Band There is a river, and it flows from deep within There is a fountain, that frees the soul from sin Come to this water; there is a vast supply There is a river, that never shall run dry.

There was a thirsty woman, She was drawing from a well You see her life was ruined and wasted And her soul was bound for hell Oh but then she met the Master And He told about her sin And he said "if you drink this water, You'll never thirst again.'

There is a river, and it flows from deep within There is a fountain, that frees the soul from sin Come to this water; there is a vast supply There is a river, that never shall run dry.

I want you to know that there is a river flowing inside of you, if you made Jesus lord of your life. That river is the Holy Ghost and is waiting on you to move him by your words and your faith:

It is the river of the Spirit of God: I want to ask you, how full and fast is your river running?

Is your river full and running fast enough to keep the garbage or trash of this world out or does your river have things blocking the flow?

Prayer and confession of the word as well as watching what we look at and dwell upon will help keep our river clean and flowing smoothly:

The river inside of us is the Spirit of God (Holy Spirit) moving in us:

We all have things come and fall into our rivers, blocking God’s will, word and goodness from flowing freely:

One year in the past, my family went to visit our friends that lived in Colorado: They took us up to the mountain to look at what was called, the alluvial fan: This water swirled around, not flat but upright, which created a fan like air blowing: As it blew fast it washed all impurities downstream as well as cooled us off:

Because of this fan like atmosphere, the river below it was clean and clear of blockage: Even tree branches could not stay and block the flow of water:

What is in your life that is blocking the flow of the Holy Spirit? What kind of garbage is coming into your life, blocking the flow of the Spirit?

We need to, daily be keeping our spiritual alluvial fan blowing and removing the blockage so God can move freely:

Here are some ways to do that:

1) Spend time in God’s word!

2) Spend time in prayer both in your native language and praying in other tongues or praying in the spirit:

A couple of major things that block the flow of the Spirit, is what we listen to or what we let come through our eye gates:

We might think this won’t hurt me, I will ask God forgiveness later: Well, asking forgiveness is good, but keeping the garbage or trash out completely is much better:

Let’s look at this, this way: In every river or stream they have avenues of different flows of water coming in from different directions; some of these in-let’s bring clean debris free water, others bring garbage or branches with them: These things clog up and sometimes stop the flow: We do not want to stop the flow of the Spirit of God!

Let’s look at some scriptures: Deuteronomy and throughout the old testament that Moses had to correct the children of Israel daily, so they would do and say the words God had instructed them to do or say!

1 Samuel 17:23-25 --- We see that the giant (enemy) spoke words of defeat to the children of Israel, keeping them in fear:

In 1 Samuel 17: 26 --- We see David spoke to the men that stood by him, saying, what shall be done to the man that killeth the philistine, and taketh away the reproach from Israel?

We see here that David did not keep his mouth shut, but opened it and finding ways to keep the garbage from clogging up his mind and letting fear in:

As we read through the rest of this chapter, we see a lot of garbage words spoken, trying to block the flow of godly, faith filled words from keeping the garbage or negative words out:

It was David’s mouth that defeated the giant: That giant was as good as dead, before the pebble from the sling-shot hit him:

I encourage you to read this entire story and others like it for yourself:

We see, throughout the Bible, that people, when they spoke the words of God, the garbage left out of their lives:

We see throughout the word, passages of how important it is to make sure we speak what God said and not how we feel or what we see:

I challenge you to get into the word of God and see how many people were set free or healed, because the of Faith they spoke, keep the garbage out and faith overcame the illness or whatever they went to Jesus or the disciples for:

Many received their healing by speaking God’s word out of their mouth: Many removed the garbage from flowing down their rivers: They kept the blockage out, so the Spirit of God could bring the truth of the word and supply what they were desiring:

I challenge you to look up the story about what Mary, the Mother of Jesus said, when she was told by an angel, she would have a miracle happen and give birth without knowing or having a sexual relationship with a man: Mary plainly said, without question, “be it unto me according to thy words”

If she would not have said that, she would have missed the blessing of being the Mother of Jesus!

She, regardless of what others were saying, got the garbage out with her words and her river flowed, producing the birth of the lord Jesus Christ!

Again, I challenge you to:

1) Look up scriptures where people cleaned up their rivers, by speaking what Jesus said instead of what nay-sayers said, or go by how they feel:

2) Start speaking God’s word out of your mouth:

3) Watch what you are seeing, reading, either by books, TV, Radio etc.

Let’s put God’s word of faith and clean the garbage out of our rivers, so our rivers will flow with life:

Remember: Jesus is Lord!

There is a river
