“TRUST IN HIM AT ALL TIMES”.
Psalms 62:8 --- Trust in Him at all times; you people, pour your heart before him, God is a shelter for us:
Luke 11:28 --- But He said, “Indeed, blessed are those who hear the word of God and keep it.”
It seems like, in a lot of my writings, I look back in times as a young boy growing up:
I guess it was because I was raised in a God loving and teaching home: I never remember hearing my Mother and Father arguing, but anyhow, I don’t know why I put that in here, maybe someone needed to hear that:
Let’s look at Psalms 62: 8 ---- It says to trust in him at all times! This does not mean only when things are going well: No, it says to trust him at all times!
This trust in him must be in good times and bad times; In prosperous times as well as times of famine:
That last sentence seemed to be where I lived for a long time: I did not feel happy, joyful, and definitely not prosperous:
It seemed like no matter how hard I worked; I could not get to the prosperous point of life:
I worked hard growing up as well as during the first years of my marriage, but even though we weren’t dirt poor, we just never had more than enough:
We lived in the survival kind of life, but it did not seem like we would ever get past that point, and like a lot of other Christians, we seemed to accept that way of living to be our normal lifestyle:
It wasn’t until I got into the word of God, that I realized I did not have to live that way:
I had to learn God’s way of living and trust in him and his word, before I saw the light of day:
You might ask, are you living the life of a millionaire? No, but I am living a very prosperous life:
When I started to see for myself, what God had planned for mankind, I understood what kind of life we could live through his word:
This kind of life, did not happen over night and it won’t for you either, but as you continue putting the word first, trusting in God that he is faithful to bring to pass his word, and not put him or his word on a certain time frame, it will happen:
I have told this story before in the book I wrote called Caught in the knot or not: You can find this book on my website, williamlear.org. but in 2017, I saw God’s word work for me financially: Now, God’s word worked for me in how he brought out first born Son through so many challenges at birth that in the natural, it looked like he was not going to live, this happened in 1981: God was faithful and my son is coming up on his 39th birthday here shortly and is as healthy as can be:
Now, back to my blessing in 2017: I was out of debt at this time and was able to build a sizable bank account for savings:
At this time, I was driving a 2005 dodge single cab pickup which was standard shift with the gearshift on the floor:
It was the only vehicle I had, and it became very difficult driving with two young granddaughters all crammed in the front seat with their car seats, and the gearshift in the center of the front floor.
Well, this one day I was taking my granddaughters home, when the oldest one said, “ I am going to ask Mommy and Daddy to buy you a new truck: One that is big enough for all of us to ride in and it will be black, because that is your favorite color.
My youngest granddaughter said, yes Papa, black because that is your favorite color:
Well, at that time, I thought that was sweet of them to think of doing that, but that way of purchase was not what God had in his plan:
Well, back to the car lot:
I found the truck; it was double cab and it was black: I looked at the price and it was a good price and the truck had real low mileage:
I called my oldest son to come and look at it, he came, and we took it for a test ride:
Well, we took the truck back to the lot and went home: That night just as I laid my head on my pillow, I heard the Lord say, offer this amount, which he named, along with the trade in of your 2005:
The next day my Son and I went down there and I made the offer: They accepted it with no argument, and guess what, I had enough in the bank to buy it without having to take out a loan and had money left over:
That was a blessing: We now ride in style and have plenty of room and the truck is black:
This was the start of my journey to continue to stay out of debt: This came about, because I learned to trust and obey:
There is a song written that says, to trust and obey, for there is no other way, to be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obey:
Here you see key components; these components will get you anything Gods word says you can have:
These components are --- Hear! Trust! Obey!
You must first hear --- this comes from knowing the Father’s voice;
Trust --- Just like you learned in the natural, to trust in your natural parents, that what they said would happen:
Obey --- Again, I liken this to the natural --- For me to obey, I must trust that what my earthy Parents said would come to pass:
The above instructions are exactly the same with our heavenly Father:
TRUST AND OBEY!
Remember: Jesus is Lord!
